The World's Best Beach? See For Yourself On Our Croatia Discovery Route
By MedSailors Crew published on 16 January 2017
Zlatni Rat beach in Bol may not have the most inviting of names, but it is an absolute must-see when enjoying a sailing Croatia break. It’s not hard to see why it has garnered a reputation as one of the world’s best beaches, and there has never been a better time to see what all the fuss is about.
One thing that makes Zlatni Rat so special is its unique geographical identity. At half a kilometre long, the golden sand changes its shape over time as a result of the south-easterly wind known as the Jugo. Curved around a strip of land and pointing out to sea, the sands here – sometimes known as the Golden Cape – offer a truly special place to rest and relax or try something a bit more high-octane.
The winds make it an ideal location for windsurfing, and you could hire a jet ski or you might want to take advantage of the crystal-clear waters to indulge in a spot of snorkelling. But if a completely laidback time is what you’re after, why not bring a bottle and find yourself the perfect spot to watch the sunset over this most remarkable holiday location? Simply breathtaking.
