Split Simply Can’t Be Missed When Sailing Croatia

As Croatia’s second-largest city, it is perhaps unsurprising that Split is full of things for visitors to see and do. But of the town’s many attractions, what is it important not to miss?
The starting point for your exploration of Split, Riva’s seafront promenade is for many the town’s beating heart. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, and if you are keen to pick up supplies for the remainder of your Croatia sailing holiday, the bustling marketplace will provide everything you need.
You can’t stop off in Split without exploring its historic old town. Packed with beautiful architecture and with landmarks at every turn, this area is a haven for those seeking stunning views across the town. And another fantastic view is available from Marjan Hill. It’s popular with locals and tourists alike, and a climb to the peak will be rewarded by a drink at the ideally placed hilltop bar.
An even more tranquil time can be had at the foot of Marjan hill on Bacvice beach. Relatively quiet even during peak times, the beach has everything you might need for a relaxing day in the sun before once again sailing Croatia’s seas.
