7 Reasons Why Summer Holidays Are Better Than Winter Holidays

There’s something about summer holidays that makes us want to break into song. You know, that Cliff Richard ‘we’re all going on a summer holiday’ classic? We used to sing it incessantly when we were children, strapped into the back of the car on the way to wherever we were going that year. We loved every second, but our poor parents probably wouldn’t agree!
Anyway, here are six more reasons why I and the rest of the MedSailors team think summer holidays are unbeatable!
Things to do, Places to See, New People to Meet!
We firmly appreciate the merits of staying cosy inside with a good book or movie marathon when it’s chilly outside, but there’s nothing quite like the feeling of being on a summer holiday complete with morning ‘til evening sunshine and so many amazing activities to do and things to see!
Speaking of Activities…
It’s time to say hello to sunbathing, outdoor dining, volleyball, snorkelling, paddle boarding, sailing (one of our personal faves, obvs!), hiking, swimming, cycling and lounging with a good book on the beach. What’s not to love?
Ice Cream
Yes, ice cream deserves its own category because there are SO many flavours to try, and when it’s hot outside you’ve got the perfect excuse. Although, ice cream doesn’t ever need an excuse!
Sunshine is Good for the Soul
Imagine lounging on deck, taking an afternoon siesta in the warm Mediterranean sunshine. Doesn’t that sound heavenly?
Indulge Your Inner Explorer
Hitting the popular areas early in the morning means you’ll avoid most of the crowds and leaves you free to head off the beaten path and discover some of the lesser known areas that makes the Mediterranean so special.
